Alright, it’s looking like the following courses will work for me between here and January without exerting too much brain power:
Cultural Anthropology
Intro to World Religions
History of Religions I
Intro to Philosophy
Fine Arts Appreciation
I’m thinking Anthro and History of Religions I (focus on Old Testament era Judaisim).
Of course I could always take care of something like History or Government or :gasp: another Math class.
Beh, I’m just rambling. I think every post I’ve ever written about school turns into a random thinking-things-out-on-paper type thing that simply must be awful for anyone else to read :]
As many of you may already know, I completed two online college courses while in Iraq. As I began to enroll in my third class once I returned home, I was informed my enrollment was on hold, pending credit review. As it turns out, after completing two courses with my “home college”, I am considered an academic resident, and they will then perform an official credit evaluation and transfer. I’ve never been to college before, but I knew I’d get at least a credit or two in Physical Education just for being a soldier.
As it turns out, I received eighteen credits just for being a soldier. I have been credited in such areas as physical conditioning, first aid, military science, parachuting, ethics, and marksmanship.
Sweet.
Combined with the two actual courses I completed, that puts my grand total at 25 official college credits. 39 more and I earn the coveted (and required by the military education system before continuing to a bachelor’s) Associate of General Studies. From there … well, from there, my friend, the road is wide open. I’m still thinking anthropology, but who knows how I’ll feel in another year or so.
